A Beautiful Day For A Wedding

Of course the July heat was flaunting, but I'm not sure there could have been a prettier day for a wedding. Just as blue as the sky can be and as magical as clouds take form, came the joining of two on their very special day.

Head To Toe, Top To Bottom...beautiful

From the dress to the ribbon and lace, the details were so very pretty. Hints of black, white & gold kept it simple and classic.

The Ceremony

From the moment the music started I was captivated. I am a sucker for sentiment. Sonya's own Grandfather led the wedding in the church where he preaches every Sunday! Gosh!!! And to top it off, Sonya surprised her groom, Charles with a song.  She sang to him in front of their family and friends! How romantic is that, seriously, folks!?

One of the many blessings of capturing a wedding is being able to stop and snap those lifetime memories as they happen. Everything from a hand being held,  family tears shedding, a fidgeting child to the kiss. Those moments become pieces of their life...another memory of their journey together.

"Every heart sings a song, incomplete, until another heart whispers back. Those who wish to sing always find a song. At the touch of a lover, everyone becomes a poet.” ― Plato

Never Stop Dancing

“We should consider every day lost on which we have not danced at least once.” ― Friedrich Nietzsche
“We should consider every day lost on which we have not danced at least once.” ― Friedrich Nietzsche

I would be lying if I said I didn't get all misty-eyed behind the camera. Mostly because I know what it means to say I do. I have experienced much laughter, pillow fights, inside jokes and cover theft. But, there have been times where we had to fight to hold on to each other and times when we held on with our eyes closed, teeth clenched, just hoping the tomorrow would see us through. My husband and I have been married for 5 years. (together for a total of 14 years.) What a beautiful promise of the heart, mind and body! It's messy, it's challenging, and it will expose your every flaw and teach you new things about yourself. Above all marriage is beautiful, amazing, wonderful, and exciting. You two are going to be in love with this life together. You are going to grow together in a way no one can separate you. But in all times, the happy and troublesome, "Don't stop dancing!" find a reason to come together and share a dance. Even if your feet hurt and you don't want to look at each other, just hold on tight to one another and dance it out.
